How do I book my FREE, helpful consultation?

It’s easy!

Call me to book on 01273 72655 or 07766 236600 or email me using the contact form and I will take some brief details of your presenting problem. I am happy to answer any questions that you may have. We will then agree a convenient date and time.

What happens at my free consultation?

Your free consultation lasts for 20-30 minutes. I explain Hypnotherapy and I take a case history which helps me assess whether hypnotherapy and NLP are an appropriate and beneficial course of treatment for you. I will always refer you to a more appropriate practitioner or service if I do not feel I am the best person to help you.

I will also advise you how many sessions that you are likely to need and devise an individual treatment plan that will benefit you most. I usually keep the following hour free as most people want to get started and have a treatment straightaway, but there is no obligation.

What happens at the next or a typical session?

A session lasts for up to 75 minutes. The first part of the session will be solution focused. We will work closely with gaining clarity of future goals and what has prevented them occurring so far. I will then revise your individual treatment plan and discuss practical ways of moving forward that suit you. In the second part will be go about reinforcing the changes using advanced hypnosis and NLP techniques. This is so that the new behaviour can become comfortable and instinctive to you. In subsequent sessions I will deepen the therapeutic effect of the Hypnotherapy and build on the positive outcomes.

How many sessions might I need?

This depends on a number of factors and varies from client to client and the nature of the condition. Hypnotherapy and NLP are very powerful and natural but they are not magic. I am realistic and want you to have a good improvement so I would not say 2 sessions if it was 4 sessions, just to get you to come and see me. My business has thrived on achieving great results and those people go on to recommend me to people they know. Nor would I have you coming for more sessions than you needed. Some people however opt to come back regularly as they enjoy the mental and physical relaxation that Hypnotherapy gives.

What types of sessions are available?

Most clients opt for a number of sessions of up to 75 minutes, spread over some weeks. Other clients prefer to have more intensive treatments of 2 hours or a half day (3 hours), using a range of techniques .I am very flexible in the way I work but it must be appropriate to the efficacy of the condition. I also offer a 30 minute ‘cravings buster’ with NLP and EFT or a 60 minute relaxation or a 90 minute relaxation with self-hypnosis. A tool you can use for life! Even a 2 hour past –life regression!

Most people think about Hypnotherapy in relation to stopping smoking or losing weight. You will be amazed at the wide range of conditions it can treat. So many that only a few can be listed here. Contact me to find out how it can help you.

It is a perfectly safe and natural way of using your own inner resources to reorganise your thought and behaviours to bring about beneficial change.

What is NLP?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) was created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder as a methodology to model excellence and then be able to install it in others. This can be excellence in any field, skill or ability. It explores the relationship in how we think (neuro), how we communicate both verbally and non -verbally (linguistic) and our patterns of behaviour and emotions (programming).

It is a therapeutic process which helps to break old behaviour patterns and generate unlimited potential. If you are looking to make positive changes in your life then NLP can help move you on from where you are... to where you want to be.

What is EFT?

Emotional Freedom Technique or ‘tapping ’is a meridian therapy with roots in Chinese acupuncture and Japanese acupressure. It has evolved from Dr Roger Callaghan’s Thought Field Therapy and developed in the USA by Gary Craig.EFT is acupuncture without the needles. It can help to treat, fears, phobias and pain as well as addictions such as smoking or the desire to lose weight or relationship problems. EFT can also help remove blockages related to attitudes and beliefs resulting in greater equilibrium.

What is trance?

Trance is an altered state of consciousness that most people slip in and out of all of the time. For example, a trance state can occur when we become so engrossed in a movie or book that we forget where we are, or when we travel home without being aware of driving there.

What does Hypnotherapy feel like?

Most people find Hypnotherapy to be a wonderfully relaxing experience. Clients find trance to be very soothing and comfortable and often do not want it to end. Any fears of being out of control quickly disappear and they allow themselves to go deeper as the sessions go on.

How would you put me ‘under’?

Sometimes people are disappointed that I don’t have a gold watch, have flowing dark robes or have staring eyes! You sit in a very comfortable chair with your feet on a footstool wrapped in a throw(if you wish).I play soothing music, you just close your eyes and I talk to you. I usually use long, slow, permissive ‘inductions’ with lots of ego boosting suggestions so you get the full benefit of the treatment. In later sessions clients often like to experiment with faster ‘inductions’ and I am happy to do so as it allows more time for their tailor made positive suggestions.

Will I lose control or will you have control of my mind?

No. You remain in complete control and can come out of trance whenever you wish. Hypnotherapy, contrary to popular belief, is all about you having more control of your own mind. I am simply the catalyst for you to reorganise your thoughts, behaviours and beliefs in a more positive way.

Is it like stage hypnotism?

No. If someone volunteers to be hypnotised by a stage hypnotist they know they will be made an object of fun are game for a laugh. If someone was dragged up from the audience against their will, then whatever the stage hypnotist tried would not work .

Will I tell you something I don’t want you to know whilst in trance?

No. Most of the time you will remain silent when in trance but even if you do speak, you will not say anything you didn’t want anyone to know.

Will I be asleep?

No. contrary to popular opinion, you are not asleep during hypnosis. You are fully aware of what is happening and hear what is being said to you. You give the impression of sleep because your body is totally relaxed, but ‘hypnotic sleep’ bears no resemblance to normal sleep.

Is Hypnotherapy safe?

Hypnotherapy is approved by the British Medical Association, and is very safe when used by a qualified Hypnotherapist. I am fully qualified and insured, registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (reg. number 667) and have 8 years experience.

Can anyone be hypnotised?

Yes, if you want to be hypnotised you can be. However there are different levels of trance and these vary from person to person and session to session.

I have a problem and I am not sure if Hypnotherapy can help. How do I find out?

Contact me by phone or email me and I will assess and advise you. The range of issues it can treat are very broad! Only a few have been covered in these pages.

I have a medical condition. Will that effect treatment?
